Massey Lyuben Gallery is proud to present Summer Collective, a group exhibition featuring works by Maria Kozak, Nancy Palubniak, and Laura Sallade.

Maria Kozak was born in Krakow, Poland in 1981. She has a BS from Colorado StateUniversity in Business Administration and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Kozak's work explores the interplay between humanity, divinity and nature. She allows intuition to guide her in order to create an authentic experience of her inner world. While she has strong interest in process and the manipulation of material her painting are really a series of happy accidents. She has shown most recently at Massey Lyuben in Chelsea and One Mile Gallery in Kingston, NY. Her work is found in collections nationally and abroad and has been mentioned in the Wall Street Journal, The Art Newspaper and Paper magazine. Kozak is also co-founder of Foolsgold Arts, which curates exhibitions that benefit various charitable organizations that promote animal welfare or protect the environment. She has spent many years as an art director and designer and is currently at the New York Times.

Nancy Palubniak is a NYC based artist, (b. Jersey City, NJ) who began a dedicated art practice following a career as a professional photographer. She takes a multi-disciplinary approach in work that utilizes forms dictated by content. Her work looks to the interior domestic space to explore women’s self-image. She completed her BFA at the School of Visual Arts before opening Palubniak Studios, Inc. and then went on to complete her MFA at The City College of NY. She has shown work locally, and regionally with award, and completed an artist residency in France.

Laura Sallade is a Philadelphia-based artist who makes material-driven work ranging from small works on paper to large sited sculptures.  Her process-oriented pieces span the spectrum between the analytical and intuitive and pose questions on habit and spontaneity.  Upon graduation, Laura received the Richard C. Von Hess Travel Scholarship, granting an additional year of study followed by several months of European travel.  Laura's work is in numerous collections in New York, Nashville, and Nantucket, and Paris.  As an emerging artist, Laura has taken part in various exhibitions in both Philadelphia and New York.
